Merry Christmas 2007
Hello to my dearest JADE
and I am long overdue for a post, and in the spirit of Christmas, I think now is a good time :)
to fill in a huge gap... i finished my bachelor of science with an excellent 78% average :) and since my exams it's literally been a mad rush!
Had a short break in Queensland, driving from Cairns and ending up in Brisbane. My travel buddies were Michelle (a friend i clicked with instantly at RJ and we still keep in touch), and 4 of her schoolmates - all Germans, so that was a culture shock for me!
but either way they were lovely company. And Brizzy is the most beautiful city in the world, and the people are so laid back and friendly. I loved it. I can see myself living there one day... *day dreaming*
But anyway, back to the real world... my first day back in Perth from a fun but tiring holiday, I got straight into work. Managed to score myself a vacation chemistry position at BP :) I love the work. the hours are long, the work is hard, very physically and mentally challenging. But it is good fun, and it'll look excellent on my resume :) and i have a whole bunch of "grandpas" to spoil me at work! which is fantastic :)
Along with all the hard work... i'm busy juggling a non-existent social life. I hang out with my work mates more than my own boyfriend. and that situation quite simply sucks. He is still such a sweet and patient, loving guy, but we both have conflicting schedules - when i finish work, he starts work at the Hilton and vice versa so I hardly see him. But whenever we do squeeze in the time it feels great. Still love him so much, probably even more than when we first started going out. At the end of the day, this relationship is worth working for :)
Oh and some sad news :( my uni buddy - bobbie is leaving perth and travelling round the world!! By herself!! i.e. without me :( i'll be so lonely next year. After 3 years of classes with her and all her antics, I'll miss her. hope she travels safe and hope she has a great time!
Last but not least: plans for next year!!
- Do my honours... and hopefully i'll get that scholarship i applied for. that would be so nice
- be more involved in church. what with all that church moving business. it has resulted in me focusing on reading God's word more devotedly... I am up to 2 Kings! And no matter how tired I am, I still feel blessed by reading his word every night. So yes, I want to serve in church more - I am the new webmaster of our church website :) thats still work in progress...
- spend time with the people i love. especially my sister... she is my "person". And my boyfriend, who loves me enough to put up with me. And eda, and jason. And a JADE reunion would be lovely. hahha another classic photo perhaps? I'm sorry I don't come back often enough... but you guys should come and visit me one day!!!
- and i think that should be enough... i'm not into the whole resolutions thing. I believe if something in your life needs fixing... you should be fixing it NOW. Not on christmas... or New Year's... or when you're in your mid life crisis :)
